PHP & iPhone

iPhone have just been launched in US and according to latest report there is already more than half million of iPhone sold. Since AJAX was the only "SDK" to create applications for iPhone, many projects have been launched to profit from this buzz.

We launched officially today AJAX4iPhone.com website to track AJAX application development for iPhone, and I was surprised that the majority of new applications created for iPhone have been written in PHP. We did not run a survey on all existent AJAX application, but this was our observation in few days after launching the new Apple's gadget.

AJAX applications for iPhone are after all simple AJAX applications that have been optimized to run on iPhone touchscreen. To create a new applications or a new version of your existent service you can simply use Safari 3 as test plateform, then adjust your page to display on the 320 x 480 pixels iPhone's screen (160ppi).

What is more interesting here is to make your AJAX applications compatible not only with Safari, but with all others modern browsers for mobile such Opera, or Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit. If your app is ready for iPhone, you can be ready also for all others mobile phones.
